  10.        FLEXlm is perhaps the most widely used license manager in
  11.        the software industry.  FLEXlm is best known for its ability
  12.        to allow software licenses to be available (or float)
  13.        anywhere on a network, instead of being tied to specific
  14.        machines.  Network licensing benefits both users and license
  15.        administrators.  Users can make more efficient use of fewer
  16.        licenses by sharing them on the network.  License
  17.        administrators can control who uses the licensed
  18.        application, and the node(s) where the licenses will be
  19.        available.

  30.        include FLEXlm v6 licensing in your application.

  50.        The _l_m_s_g_i_8 and _l_m_s_g_i_8__r libraries are provided for
  51.        applications that want to use features of FLEXlm introduced
  52.        after v6.  The two libraries are identical except that
  53.        _l_m_s_g_i_8__r includes support for pthread-safe heartbeats, and
  54.        must be linked with -_l_p_t_h_r_e_a_d.  Note that if you use either
  55.        of these libraries you must ensure that any floating license
  56.        server is also version 8 or newer.  Header files for these
  57.        libraries are in /_u_s_r/_i_n_c_l_u_d_e/_l_m_s_g_i_8.

  77.        The _V_k_F_L_M(3) class provides a high-level C++ interface to
  78.        the FLEXlm licensing manager.  The _V_k_F_L_M class implements a
  79.        policy based on the FLEXlm license mechanism that simplifies
  80.        the process of license protecting applications.
  81.        Applications merely instantiate a _V_k_F_L_M object in their
  82.        application, providing some basic information about the
  83.        application and its licensing.  The _V_k_F_L_M object handles all
  84.        license verification, informing the user if there is a
  85.        problem, and shutting the application down if a license
  86.        cannot be found.

  98.        This release of license_dev contains an FLEXlm 5.11 -o32
  99.        license library, FLEXlm 6.1g -n32 and -64 license libraries
  100.        (_l_m_s_g_i), and FLEXlm 8.1b -n32 and -64 license libraries
  101.        (_l_m_s_g_i_8).  To find out more about this release of FLEXlm
  102.        please refer to the release notes for license_eoe.  Note
  103.        that if you are upgrading from a version of FLEXlm 4.1 or
  104.        lower, new vendor keys will be required to use the libraries
  105.        contained in this product.
